Mary E. Clark, 85, a longtime resident of Taunton, died peacefully at Marian Manor in Taunton on Friday, August 22, 2025. Daughter of the late Paul F. and Louise (Senter) Clark, she was born and raised in Stoughton. Mary was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Stoughton High School, Class of 1958. She then earned her LPN diploma from S.E. Regional Vocational Technical School in Easton. She resided in California for 8 years before settling in Taunton.
Mary was an LPN at Goddard Memorial Hospital and Paul A Dever State School until retirement. She was also an avid volunteer at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was a longtime member of Winthrop Street Baptist Church in Taunton, where she was a former Deaconess and active in the Women’s Club and Bible Study. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and shopping, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mary was the mother of Kathleen M. Andrews and her husband Daniel of Stoughton, Cheryl A. MacPhail of Taunton, Debra J. Mettler of Florida, and the late Patricia L. Mettler. She was the sister of Joseph L. Clark of Stoughton and the late Paul F. Clark, Robert W. Clark, Barbara L. Yonker, William E. Clark, Jean E. Durling, Carolyn M. McMakin, and Claire M. Clark. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Wayne Harris.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Thursday, August 28, from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, August 29, at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Mayflower Cemetery, Taunton.
