Mary Elizabeth "Marybeth" Horan

Mary Elizabeth Horan, “Marybeth”, 74, died Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Northpoint Lexington Care Center in Lexington, KY, after a period of declining health.  Daughter of the late Edward T. “Red” Horan and Ruth M. (Craig) Horan, Marybeth was raised in Sharon and was a longtime resident of Sharon.  She was a graduate of Jeanne d’Arc Academy in Milton and also earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at Suffolk University.  She later earned her Master's Degree in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Seville in Spain. Marybeth taught Spanish at both Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, the Holbrook School System and later the Perkins School for the Blind.  As a lifelong horse enthusiast, Marybeth raised Andalusian horses and had her own Spanish Merchandise Company, La Tienda Espanola. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, flower arranging, playing polo and attending the opera.

Marybeth is survived by her siblings, William T. Horan and Edward T. Horan, Jr., both of Stoughton, James M. Horan of Hingham, Daniel P. Horan of Brockton, Ruth M. Nelson of Mansfield, Peter G. Horan of Easton and Regina M. Dallaire of North Attleboro.   She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.  Donations in Marybeth’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
