Mary (Hogan) Mara, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at Maplewood at Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth. She was the beloved wife of Thomas L. Mara, Jr., with whom she shared 43 loving years of marriage.
Born and raised in Cambridge, Mary was the daughter of the late Rose (Catizone) Hogan and Edward F. Hogan. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School. Mary and Tom were longtime residents of Stoughton.
Mary worked as a secretary at the Brockton VA for 10 years before retiring. Later, she and Tom moved to West Yarmouth, where they cherished their time together by the beach. Mary found joy in gardening, fine dining, and indulging her sweet tooth - especially when it came to a good banana split.
In addition to her husband, Tom, Mary was predeceased by her beloved son, Joseph Robbins, whose untimely passing was in 1995. She was also predeceased by her siblings Rosemarie Medeiros, William Hogan, and Henry Hogan. Mary is survived by her brother, Edward Hogan of Columbus, Ohio, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Monday, January 12, from 9:00–10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
