Mary E. (Potter) (Pernock) McShea

Mary E. (Potter) (Pernock) McShea, 84, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Ellis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. Daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth C. (Holland) Potter, she was born in Wakefield, RI and raised in Canton. She was a graduate of Canton High School and studied coursework in hotel management. Mary was a resident of Stoughton for over 20 years. She was a front desk supervisor at the Best Western Hotel in Norwood for several years before retiring at age 59. She enjoyed reading and watching television, but her greatest joy was going on cruises and traveling with her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Deborah A. Swanstrom and her husband Steven D. of Easton and Paul A. Pernock, Jr. and his wife Lisa F. of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Jennifer E. Ellis and her husband Joseph, Christine M. Swanstrom and Heather A. Pernock. She was the sister of the late David Sherman and Marilyn Wicher.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, private family services will be held with a celebration of Mary's life to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the D.A.V. - Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
