Mary M. Nelson
Mary M. Nelson, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Sharon, on March 18, 2021. She was known as a demanding but fair math teacher at Dover-Sherborn Regional Middle School for 30 years. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world and supporting local sports teams.
Mary was the longtime partner and dearest friend to Barbara Freedman. She was the caring sister to the late John Nelson Jr. and David Homer Nelson. She was the loving aunt to her late niece Margo Swortzel and is survived by nieces Donna Hufnagel and her husband John of Port Orange, FL, and Cheryl Nichols of Floyd, VA, and nephews John Nelson III and his wife Rhonda of Salem, VA and Christopher Nelson and his wife Rita of Elliston, VA, many grand nieces and nephews and the Freedman and Rousso families.
Due to the current COVID restrictions the March 25th funeral mass is private followed by interment at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon by 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Sharon at https://olossharon.org/donate or Keene State Class of 1958 Endowment Fund at Keene State College, 229 Main Street, Keene, NH 03435. Mary requested a social celebration of her life be held when the Pandemic ends
