Mary E. (Hibbard) Palermo, 87, died at her home on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, after a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Salvatore A. Palermo. Born in Boston, she was raised in Mission Hill and was a graduate of Mission Hill Schools. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1967. Mrs. Palermo was a dedicated homemaker and mother who later worked as a Kitchen Worker at the Dawe School and the Gibbons School in Stoughton for several years. Mary enjoyed bowling, bingo, and spending time with her family, as well as her children and grandchildren. As time progressed, her beloved dog Teddy was like family. Her family was her life.
Mrs. Palermo is survived by her children, John J. Palermo and his wife Annmarie, Stephen C. Palermo and Mary L. Carlson all of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Stephen C. Palermo, Megan R. Palermo, Nicholas J. Palermo, Kevin J. Carlson and Brad E. Carlson. Mary was the sister of Linda Twomsley of Stoughton, Thomas Hibbard of FL, Jean Twombly of Hull, Catherine "Tootie" Kean of Pocasset, Peggy Tempesta of NH and the late Charles, John and James Hibbard and Arthur Holmes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, Private family services will be held with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
