Mary (Asimacopoulos) Van Horn, 93, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She was the wife of the late Donald C. Van Horn. Daughter of the late George and Ida (Fisher) Asimacopoulos, she was born in Boston and raised in the South End. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston. Mary resided in Stoughton for over 60 years. She was a homemaker, at home raising her children and then helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was very active at Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton where she volunteered at their Bargain Box, was a member of their Friendship Club and taught Sunday School. She loved to read, cook and watch Western movies but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mary was the mother of Donald C. Van Horn of Tucson, AZ, Donna K. Berger, Michael G. Van Horn and Mary Ann Marshall all of Stoughton and the late Ida M. Giannone. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Justine, Nicole, Frankie, Chelsea, Rachel and Bailey and great-grandchildren, Corey, Mackenzie and Rhiannon.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, November 4 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Trinity Episcopal Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary‘s memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner Street, Stoughton, MA 02072 or www.trinitystoughton.org.
