Mary E. (Goward) Walker

 Mary E. (Goward) Walker, 96, died Monday, March 27, 2023, at the BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Adrian Walker.  Born and raised in Stoughton, she was a lifelong resident and a 1946 graduate of Stoughton High School. She worked as a saleswoman for Dutchmaid Clothing and was a member of the Sales Honor Roll for 12 straight years. She later worked at Cumberland Farms Corporate Offices in Canton and then in the Reebok Corporate Offices in Stoughton.  She retired in 1996.  Mary was a dedicated mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother and a loyal friend.  She was a member of the Minerva Lodge and Stoughton Historical Society and the Stoughton Senior Center.  In her free time, Mary enjoyed playing bingo, listening to Irish Music on Saturdays, dining out and enjoyed traveling and had fond memories of her trips to Hawaii and the Caribbean.  Above all, she treasured her time with her family and friends. 

Mary was the beloved mother of Thomas M. Walker and Steven J. Walker and his late wife Jane of Stoughton.  She was the grandmother of Brian A. Walker and Laura Walker of Stoughton and the great grandmother of Kiarah Walker, Aurora Fernandes, Aniyah Fernandes, Julian Fernandes and Malachi Fernandes.  Mary was the sister of Evelyn Keefe of Canton, Robert Goward of CA and the late George L. Goward, John H. Goward and Richard Goward. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 12 PM.  Visiting Hours will be prior to the Prayers from 10 AM -12 PM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
