Matthew H. Stanhope

Matthew H. Stanhope, 72, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the PAM Health Specialty Hospital in Stoughton. Born in Providence, RI, he was raised in Barrington, RI and moved to Weston, MA at the age of 9. He attended Weston Schools and was a graduate of Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, ME. Following his graduation, he joined the United States Army and spent over 4 years of dedicated service to his country. Following his Honorable Discharge, he returned home and began working as Landscaper and Handyman, a career he continued for many years. He was a resident of Waltham. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with electronics.

Matt is survived by his two sons, Matthew J. Stanhope of North Adams and Daniel Stanhope of Pepperell. He was the brother of Susan Williams of VA and Andrew Stanhope of NJ. He is also survived by two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services were held with Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
