Maurice P. "Pete" Glennon, 87, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of 66 years of the late Frances R. (Murphy) Glennon. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Roxbury and was a graduate of Boston Trade School. Mr. Glennon was a resident of Stoughton for many years prior to moving to Easton for several years and later, has spent the last 16 years in Palmetto, FL. Pete worked as a Long-Distance Truck Driver for the Carl Subler Co. in Saco, ME for many years, retiring several years ago. Prior to that he worked for Allied Containers in Dedham for over 15 years. Pete and his wife Frances were also the former owners of Mr. Donut in Brockton. He was a Lifetime Member of the Elks in Wareham and a former member of Teamsters Local 25 in Boston. He was an avid woodworker and also enjoyed baking, hunting and spending time with his beloved family.
Pete is survived by his children; Linda Murray of Easton, Timothy Glennon and his wife Debbie of Bridgewater, Michael Glennon of Stoughton, Theresa Austin and her husband Harry of Easton and Brenda Scutt and her husband Johnny of Michigan. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his son John Glennon, grandson Michael Glennon Jr. and his siblings, Eleanor Flint and Walter E. Glennon. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews; and host of other family and friends.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM. Donations in Pete's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
