Michael B. Bishop, 66, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Stoughton, son of the late Paul “Boofy” Bishop and Bette (Jordan) Bishop, he was a 1977 graduate of Stoughton High School. He also attended Bridgewater State College. Michael was a resident of East Bridgewater for over 20 years. In 2000, he married Patricia A. (LaBelle) Bishop, and together they have enjoyed over 25 years of marriage. Mike worked as a Warehouse Manager for the F.W. Webb Company in Bridgewater for many years, retiring in 2024. He was a longtime member of the Mattamiscontis Club in Maine and enjoyed his time spent there with friends and family. Mike enjoyed playing ice hockey and played in a men’s league in Taunton well into his 40’s. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and grilling and smoking all different types of meat for friends and familiy to enjoy. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and his family.
In addition to his wife Patricia A. (LaBelle) Bishop, he is also survived by his three children, Bradford M. Bishop and his wife Amanda of Plymouth, Jessica B. Murphy and her husband Joe of Weymouth, and Patrick D. Bishop and his wife Julie of Milton. Mike was the grandfather of Isabel and Emilia Bishop, Austin and Cora Murphy and Ryan, Jack and Brendan Bishop. He was the brother of Wendy Hines of Stoughton, Paul Bishop of Wareham, Peter Bishop of ME and the late Pamela Bishop. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
