Michael W. Madan, 57, died Saturday, April 4, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Jean (Coffin) Madan. Born in Stoughton, son of Jo-Ann (Powers) and the late Wayne R. Madan, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a 1986 graduate of Stoughton High School. He then attended Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. Mike was a resident of Mansfield for several years. He worked as a meat cutter at several area grocery stores for many years before his medical issues forced him to retire. An avid sports fan, Mike also enjoyed freshwater fishing. Mike was a devoted father who loved spending time with his family.
Mike is survived by his children, Shawn M. Madan and his wife Becky of Plymouth and Christopher Coffin of Bridgewater, and his mother Jo-Ann Madan of Bridgewater. He was the brother of James J. Madan of Uxbridge and Kerry A. Matta and her husband John of West Bridgewater. He was the brother in law of Robin Chichester and her husband Kirk and Chrisie Coffin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many longtime, loyal friends who stood by him during his health challenges.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, April 18 from 10AM-12 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 12 PM. Donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Newton Wellesley Hospital, 2014 Washington St., Newton, MA 02462, in honor of the compassionate care Mike received there.
