Minerva Joyellen Stanton, age 76, passed away peacefully at her residence in Stoughton surrounded by her family on June 20, 2026. Born in Tela, Honduras, she was the beloved daughter of the late Adelina Moore (Wheeler) and Albert Cecilio Stanton. In her late teens, Minerva immigrated to the United States, where she made her home in both the Bronx, New York, and later in Stoughton. Minerva earned an associate's degree in accounting and worked in a variety of positions throughout her life, but her greatest joy came from raising her family and spending time with those she loved. A woman of deep faith, Minerva was devoted to Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of The House of God Church in Stoughton. Through her years of service and volunteer work, she built many lasting friendships within the community.
Minerva is survived by her children Marlyne Isom and her husband Donald of Brockton and Louis Bodden and his wife Nadia of New York. She was the Grandma to Demetri, Christian, Jordan, Julian, Louis, III, Aaron and Chloe, and to her great-grandchild Demetri, Jr. She was the loving sister to William Stanton, Beverly Ramon, Rose Marie Stanton Burns and Marlyne Ligerdy Ruiz, and was preceded in death by brothers Albert and Carlos Stanton. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at The House of God Church, 1271 Park Street, Stoughton on July 1, 2026, from 10-11 AM, with a Funeral Service at 11 AM.
