Muriel "Scottie" (Peebles) Ready

Mrs. Muriel "Scottie" (Peebles) Ready, 72, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Born and raised in Walpole, she graduated Walpole High School in 1966. Working full time at Factory Mutual, she met her husband of 52 years, James J. Ready. They resided in Stoughton at their residence for many years where they raised their family together. She attended Fisher Jr. College and took multiple courses. Some of Scottie's favorite things in life, were being with her family, spending time at their vacation home in Maine at Sebago Lake, going to yard sales, tailgating at BC Football Games with her husband and being the cheering squad at her grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved attending her granddaughter's dance recitals where she would be in the crowd, proudly smiling at their accomplishments and talent. She also ran the South Shore Bowling League for many years and was an assistant coach for Stoughton Little League, coaching the "VFW Senators".

Scottie is survived by her loving husband James J. Ready, her daughter Kerry Blye and her husband David, her son Stephen Ready and his wife Traci and her four grandchildren – James and Thomas Blye and Owen and Madison Ready, all of Stoughton. She is predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and John Peebles Jr. and her brother John Peebles III She is survived by her sister Carol Brodeur and her husband Stephen of Blackstone, and her brother Allan Peebles and his wife Patricia, along with nieces and nephews.
