Norberta A. (da Silva) Ambrosio

Norberta A. (da Silva) Ambrosio, 98, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Advinia Care Baypointe in Brockton on Sunday, July 7, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Mario R. Ambrosio. Daughter of the late João and Isabel (do Carmo) da Silva, she was born and raised in Pico, Azores, Portugal before moving to Flores, Azores. She was a school teacher in Flores for 30 years before moving to Stoughton in 1974. Norberta worked as a seamstress at the Paul Dever School in Taunton for over 10 years. She was active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She loved gardening and sewing but her greatest joy was time spent with family and friends. 

Norberta was the mother of Mario M. Ambrosio and his wife Darlene of Virginia Beach, VA, Isabel Geary and her husband Jay of Easton, Luis A. Ambrosio and his wife Kathleen of Stoughton and the late Cristina E. Ambrosio. She was the grandmother of Jasmine Zmuda and her husband Ryan, Cristina Ambrosio, Nicole Geary, Danielle Geary and Jonathan Geary. She was the sister of the late Emilia Loura and Lourenco Silva. She is also survived by her goddaughter, Alice Almeida as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, July 12 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norberta‘s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (https://www.stjude.org/).
