Noreen "Rita" (Horsham) Martin

Noreen “Rita” (Horsham) Martin, 83, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Alliance Health at West Acres in Brockton on Monday, October 24, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Alphonso Martin.  Daughter of the late Clement Ivan and Frances (Vandeyar) Horsham, she was born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana.  She resided in Stoughton for the past 17 years.  Rita was a homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking and dancing but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Rita is survived by her children, Anthony MacDonald and his wife Lizima of Trinidad, Wendy A. Veerapen and her husband Anthony of Stoughton, Joan M. MacDonald and Jimmy MacDonald both of Georgetown, Guyana, Susan Gardner and her husband Maurice of Pennsylvania and Pamela Slowe of Rhode Island.  She was the sister of Ronald Horsham of England and Desmond Horsham, Edna Azore and Sylvia DeHarte all of Maryland.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and sisters.  She was the former wife of the late Ronald MacDonald.  She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, November 2 from 9:30-11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.  Donations in Rita's memory may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
