Norman N. Gilmore, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was the husband of the late Huguette M. (LePine) Gilmore. Son of the late Samuel and Dorothy (Mullen) Gilmore, he was born and raised in Boston and graduated from Dorchester High School. He resided in Stoughton since 1984. He was a member of Local 35 Painters and Allied Trades Union in Roslindale for many years. 

Norman loved spending time in Montreal with his wife’s family and loved trips to Plum Island. He was known for his kindness as he was always offering to help anyone in need. Family was most important to Norman and he loved his siblings dearly. His greatest joy was spending time with his daughter Jennifer, his grandson Joey and his granddaughter Alexis and he loved them with all his heart.

Norman was the father of Jennifer Gilmore and the late Nathalie Gilmore, the grandfather of Joey and Alexis and great-grandfather of Scarlett. He is also survived by Jennifer Helvitz whom he considered his daughter. He was the brother of Sheila, Dorothy “Tootie”, Reece and the late Diane, Richie, Kenny, Carol, Jacqueline and Peter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, July 1 from 4-7 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 7 PM.  A celebration of Norman's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman‘s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (https://www.stjude.org/).
