Paul Noel Giblin

Paul N. Giblin, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton on Friday, May 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Graziano) Giblin for 55 years. Son of the late Thomas and Mary (Lambert) Giblin, he was born in Boston and raised in Holbrook. Paul was a graduate of Holbrook High School, Class of 1965, before continuing his education at Massasoit Community College in Brockton and Clark University in Worcester. In 1976, Paul and Betty moved to Stoughton to raise their family. He was a computer analyst, working for Factory Mutual Insurance Company in Norwood for 9 years and Codex in Mansfield for 10 years before being an independent consultant until his retirement 24 years ago.

Paul was a good man who usually stayed behind the scenes yet touched countless lives in many profound ways. He was a devoted family man who always did whatever he could to help those he loved. Throughout his life he took pride in maintaining and improving his home and those of his loved ones. Among the many memories his loved ones hold dear were the Fourth of July parties that were attended by friends and family for decades. He delighted in playfully stirring up the kids, chasing them around, and instigated many water balloon battles. He enjoyed his quiet moments by the pool or under the trees with his beloved Riley. He had a well-known love of sweets, especially cookies and ice cream, and relished them in abundance to the very end. His smile, the twinkle in his eyes and his mischievousness will be greatly missed. Paul was an active member of the Sons of Italy where he served as financial secretary for many years and was a proud member of their dart team. He also had a great time coaching STOYAC softball. In his younger years he greatly enjoyed hunting. Paul had an extensive hat collection that he added to as he travelled throughout the world with Betty. In his later years he enjoyed traveling with the entire family.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his loving daughters, Joan E. Giblin and her wife Kellie Noumi of Norwood and Lauren N. Taylor of Stoughton. He was the loving “Papa” of Skyla Noumi-Giblin, James “Jack” Noumi-Giblin, and Gianna Taylor and step-grandchildren, Derek and Kayla Taylor. He was the brother of Thomas Giblin of Boston, Patricia Benton of Plymouth, and the late Mary Spillane, Joan Thompson and Robert Giblin. He was the brother-in-law of Lucille Graziano and her late husband Robert and Linda Chester and her late husband Thomas Graziano. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Love you Papa, Dad and Husband
