Paul Allen Stearns

Paul A. Stearns, age 85, passed away on February 4, 2021 at the Genesis Health Care Center in Milford after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Florence (Smith) Tripp Stearns and the late Barbara (Gill) Stearns. Born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Joseph Arthur and Margaret (Maloney) Stearns, he was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force and proudly served for 9 years. He worked as a Computer Programmer for Necco, IBM and later retired from the City of Brockton after many years. Paul was a vibrant and vocal member of the Stoughton Town Meeting, serving as a Town Meeting Representative from Precinct 5 for many years and also served on the Finance Committee. He was a dedicated communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and volunteered at bingo. He dedicated his time and care to others volunteering at the local food pantry giving back to those in need.


In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children, Margaret A. Stearns of Brockton, Jessica R. Bourque and her husband Ronald of Medfield, and Michael A. Stearns of California. He was the cherished Papa of Katie, Joseph and Allen. He was the stepfather of Guy Tripp, Lorry Tripp, Jayson Tripp, Timothy Tripp and Neil Tripp. He was "Papa Paul" to Sarah, Sam, Alexandra, Alaina, Carson, Asher, and Lux. He is predeceased by his brother Earle Stearns and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.


Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, Funeral Services will be private with a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church and Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
