Paulette G. (Joiner) Kennedy

Paulette G. (Joiner) Kennedy age 73 of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. She was the daughter to the late Marypaul and Claxton Joiner, and was predeceased by her former husband Peter Kennedy. Paulette was born on August 12, 1949 in Boston, and grew up in Dorchester before her family settled in Stoughton. She attended Stoughton High School and after graduation, was a flight attendant for American Airlines. She later attended nursing school and spent her career serving patients and mentoring young nurses, with the final years of her career spent at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Care Center in Brockton. She was a second mom to many and often described as "wicked funny," and "wicked cool." Her grandchildren, who were her whole life, said that she always made them smile. She loved the beach, working in the yard, Christmas time, and her dog Kush. She was fashionable, sharp-tongued, and a good listener. The hole she'll leave in the hearts of many will never be filled.

Paulette is survived by her three children who she loved and supported her whole life, Shayne Kennedy of Maui, HI, Dawn Kennedy of Los Angeles, CA, and Andrew Kennedy of Brockton. She was the mischievous grandmother to Evan and Liv, and was the loving aunt of Renee Somers of Providence, and Derek Somers of Stoughton, and great-aunt to Luke, Calise and Brendan. She was the devoted sister-in-law of Arlene Somers and is preceded in death by her brother David Somers.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt.27), Stoughton on Thursday December 15th from 9-11AM, followed by Funeral Reflections at 11AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Paulette's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
