Philip J. Wuschke, 82, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Platukis) Wuschke. Son of the late Philip J. and Elizabeth M. (Barry) Wuschke, he was born in Boston and raised in South Boston. He graduated from South Boston High School, Class of 1960. Phil was a Private in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He resided in Brockton for 61 years. He was a machinist supervisor at Gillette in South Boston where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 1996. Phil was a member of the American Legion Post 368 in South Boston. His greatest joys were having morning coffee by the ocean with his wife and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Phil was the father of Thomas M. Wuschke and his wife Gina of Randolph, Mark A. Wuschke of Brockton and the late Pamela J. Wuschke, Philip J. Wuschke Jr. and Scott F. Wuschke. He was the grandfather of Rosemarie, Samantha, Adriana, Scott Jr., Vivian and Philip. He was the brother of Robert Wuschke of South Boston and the late Bettyann Foley and Dolly Coleman and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday, May 10 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
