Ralph I. "Buddy" Douglas

Ralph I. “Buddy” Douglas, age 81, passed away peacefully at his residence in Wareham on May 13, 2025 with family by his side. He was the devoted husband to the late Cheryl White Douglas of Stoughton, a beloved father to the late David M. Douglas of Taunton, and Carole Douglas Reis (John) of Cranston, RI, and proud Grampa to Matthew D. Douglas of Taunton, Alexander D. Reis of Cranston, RI, and Sydney A. Reis, of Cranston, RI. Bud also leaves behind his sister Lorena Manchester of East Bridgewater, his brother Lawrence Douglas of Buzzards Bay, many cherished friends, and numerous nieces and nephews who have a special place in their hearts for their favored “Uncle Buddy”.

Born in Brockton to the late Ralph Douglas and Rose Christofori, Bud was raised and educated in West Bridgewater, where he played high school football and graduated from West Bridgewater High School in 1962. He went on to obtain his Associates Degree from the Franklin Institute of Technology which led to his early career as an auto mechanic. After years of pursuing his love of carpentry as a hobby, Bud later transitioned to finished carpentry as a career until he retired when he was in his early 70’s.

Bud loved Cape Cod, where he moved to after the passing of his beloved wife Cheri in 2008. He lived simply in a cottage by the water that was chock-full of photographs of all those he loved. He enjoyed walking and biking, especially along the Cape Cod Canal. He was an avid gardener and lover of all things football, especially his New England Patriots team. Above all else, he treasured spending time with his friends and family, and was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. Bud was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by us all.

Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, MA, on Friday May 23rd from 10-11:30 AM, with Funeral Prayers at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 N Main Street (Rt. 28), West Bridgewater, MA.
