Raymond Dale Sommerville

Raymond Dale Sommerville, 80, a longtime resident of Boston, died peacefully at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren, RI on Monday, September 20, 2021. Son of the late Jesse and Mabel (Tyler) Sommerville, he was born in Chicago, IL and educated in Boston schools. Raymond was an Airman 3rd Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was an avid chess player and enjoyed playing Bingo and basketball and drawing.

Raymond is survived by his children, Kimberley Weems of Irvington, NJ, Rachel Sommerville of Newark, NJ and Terrance Sommerville of Orange, NJ. He was the grandfather of Sequoia Clyburn, Zakii Sommerville, ZaRae Gardner who is following in her grandfather's footsteps by being an Airman in the U.S.A.F., Quarn Sommerville, LaNaya Sommerville and Ali Sommerville. He was the brother of Ernestine "Tina" Andrews of Stoughton, Natalie Peters of Toms River, NJ and the late Ernest Sommerville. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne on Monday, September 27 at 11 AM.
