Regina "Reggie" Mary (Dias) Monterio, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2020, at her home in Stoughton with her daughter, Donna, and her grandson, Frank III "Boo Boo" by her side. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Monterio, Jr. and a loving mother to three daughters: Rose Marie Miranda, Donna Monterio, and the late Charlene Monterio. Reggie was born and raised in Lawrence, MA and attended St. Mary's School. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 20 years and previously lived in Brockton for a decade. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and watching day-time soap operas like Days of Our Lives but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

With her name meaning, "Queen," she was the monarch and matriarch of her family. Reggie was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind, compassionate spirit. She always had a passion for cooking and baking "goodies" and held many family traditions, especially around the holidays. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City with her niece and best friend, Jeanette.

The things that Reggie will be most remembered by is her deep love for her family and how dedicated she was as a grandmother. Reggie was preceded in death by all of her 9 siblings: Lena, Ralph, Alfred and Silver "Teddy," Eva, Caroline, Antoinette, Blanche and Martha.

Along with her two eldest daughters and god-daughter, Leonida "Lee," Reggie is survived by her 6 grandchildren: Ronald Jr. "Ronnie," Regina, Frank III "Boo Boo," Nannette "Nana," and Michele "Coco" and Nicholas "Nikki" David. She is also survived by her 11 great-grandchildren: Alicia, Veronica, Amanda, Karlos, Frank IV "Woogie," Andrea "Drea," Elycia, David "Bam Bam," Aiden, Greyson, and Jayden; and 4 great-great grandchildren: Denver, Devin, Remington "Remi" Jade, and Asaiah as well as her (grand) nieces and (grand) nephews.

In the last years of her life, Reggie had an extraordinary team of home health aides. Her family expresses deep appreciation and gratitude to those who cared for their beloved mother and grandmother.

Funeral Prayers will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rte. 27) in Stoughton, MA on Thursday, June 18 at 12PM with visitation prior from 11AM and 12PM. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA where she will be buried with her late husband.
