Joe was born and raised in Brockton and is the son of the late Richard J. and Irene (Thomas) Brooks. He not only graduated from Brockton High School in 1971, but later married his high school sweetheart, Brenda C. Lundin that fall. They spent over 55 years together and raised their two beloved sons. Brenda and Joe lived in Avon for many years, before returning to Brockton twenty years ago. Joe worked as a chef at the Ridder Country Club in East Bridgewater for over twenty years before becoming the deli manager at Tedeschi’s Market in Norwell for several years. He later worked for Charette Printing in Boston before becoming a greeter at IKEA in Stoughton before his retirement.
Joe was a longtime active member of the Avon Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon for over 25 years, and on the Men’s Fellowship Committee. He enjoyed traveling and creating memories with Brenda on their cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, and Europe, as well as vacationing in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Joe was avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, watching movies and TV and keeping in touch with friends and family. Above all, he loved spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandsons.

Brooks and wife Erin of NH and his two grandsons, Riley Brooks and Connor Brooks, sister Nancy Bourassa of Brockton, and sister-in-law Phyllis Erauth of Brockton.
