Richard F. Farnham, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was the husband of Vanda (Compagnone) Farnham for 52 years. Son of the late Francis E. and Norma G. (Garvin) Farnham, he was born in Weymouth and raised in Hingham, and was a graduate of Hingham High School. He went on to earn a certificate from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He was a Specialist 5th Class in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Richard resided in Stoughton since 1976. He was an office manager for NYNEX then Verizon for almost 30 years before retiring in 1995. He was a former Stoughton Youth Hockey coach and enjoyed woodworking and working around his house but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children, Sandra N. Farnham of Stoughton and Michael R. Farnham and his wife Danielle of Frisco, TX. He was the grandfather of Sydney Zavolta.
Funeral Services will be private with interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Richard‘s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
