Richard J. Juskewicz

Richard J. Juskewicz, age 87, passed away on March 18, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. He was the loving husband to his late wife Anna E. (Minicucci) for 55 years before her passing in 2018. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Leary) Juskewicz. He had a true passion and natural essence working as a projectionist for all his life. He started his young career working throughout the theater district in Boston and finished his career working at Dedham and Randolph Showcase. He took pride in working at Dedham Showcase, where he worked for over 35 years before retiring in his 70’s. His proudest achievement while working there, was that he ran the first movie ever shown when it opened in 1973 and ran the last movie that was shown there when they closed, before it became Legacy Place. Every summer, his children would take turns spending the day with him at the movie theater, watching countless movies all day with family and friends. Each year for his children’s birthdays, he would use his projector at home and pick their favorite movie to watch. One of his biggest joys, was being able to entertain his family with this sentiment of what he loved to do. Richard was part of Local Union 182 out of New York, where he earned a gold card of achievement for dedicating his time to the union for 50 years. A special memory he held close to his heart were the two seats he had engraved at the Wang Theater that had his name and his late wife’s name, side by side next to one another. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth A. Juskewicz, Theresa M. Juskewicz, Judith A. O'Leary and her husband Michael, and Janice M. Juskewicz – all of Stoughton, and Maryann Juskewicz of Raynham. He was the loving Papa to Corey Juskewicz, Michael O'Leary, Jr., and Mikayla Juskewicz, and was the Great Papa to Corey Juskewicz, Jr., and Luca Juskewicz.
