Richard J. McNally

Richard J. McNally, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the age of 92 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Loved by all who knew him, Rich’s life was marked by unwavering devotion—to his faith, his family, his craft, and the many people whose lives he touched.

Born in Boston, Rich was raised and educated in Dorchester. A proud graduate of Boston Trade School, he went on to further his training at Coyne Electrical School and the Pipefitters Apprenticeship School. He served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Rich returned home and began a long and accomplished career as a member of Pipefitters Local 537 in Boston. He spent many years working as a Service Mechanic for Mass Air Conditioning and Heating in Everett, retiring at the age of 62.

In July of 1955, he married the love of his life, Genevieve (DiRienzo) McNally, and together they shared 70 beautiful years of marriage. Their home was filled with warmth, music, and deep affection as they raised their two cherished daughters.

A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and later Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton, Rich lived his faith through service. He was a lector, a Eucharistic Minister, and a gifted member of the church choir. His love of singing was lifelong—one of his fondest memories was making a professional recording at just 16 years old.

Richie’s happiest moments were found in life’s simple joys—puttering around the house and yard, painting, reading, and spending time surrounded by those he loved. His gentle spirit, ready smile, and steadfast kindness made him a source of comfort and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Rich is survived by his devoted wife, Genevieve, and their daughters: Linda J. McNally Cohen and her husband Joel Cohen of Stoughton, and Paula Cullen and her husband Tim of Round Rock, Texas. He was the proud grandfather of Lt. Mikaela Sakach, USNR, and her husband SSG Coady Glanden, USMC; Sophia Cullen; Gabriella Cullen; and Gianna Hutto and her husband Austin, and his great granddaughter Francesca.

He is also survived by his siblings Ann Bush of Easton and Thomas D. McNally of New Jersey, and was predeceased by Mary V. McNally, William J. McNally, Sr. Katherine McNally, S.J.C., Geraldine McCarthy, Marion McNally, and Edward S. McNally.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 9:00M-10: 00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Rich’s legacy of love, service, and quiet strength will live forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
