Rita V. (Lydon) Knight

Rita V. (Lydon) Knight, 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the Walpole Healthcare Center in Walpole. She was the wife of the late Harold W. Knight. Born in Cambridge, she was raised in Brighton and Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Boston Schools. Mrs. Knight was a resident of Walpole since 1995 and previously was a longtime resident of West Roxbury. Rita dedicated her life to caring for her own children and grandchildren as well as all the other children she welcomed into her home. She was immensely proud of her family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.

Rita was the mother of Harold R. Knight and his wife Floreen, Robert J. Knight and Carol M. Knight and her husband Charles Miller, all of Walpole, Patricia A. Cuneo and her husband Christopher of PA and the late Charles F. Knight and his surviving wife Susan Knight of Walpole. She was the mother in law of Suzanne Knight of Walpole. She was the sister of the late John Lydon, Mary Guilmette, Joseph Lydon, Loretta Thompson and Francis Lydon. Rita was the cherished "Nan" of Jocelyn Sullivan, Jennifer Krohn, Lukas, Dillon, Trevor, Zachary and Olivia Knight and Corey and Tyler Cuneo. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Declan and Owen Sullivan and Charlotte Krohn.

Due to Covid 19 Restrictions, a Private Funeral Mass will be held in Blessed Sacrament Church. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Rita's memory may be made in honor of her late son Charlie to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel St., Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458 (www.braintumor.org).
