Rita R. (Muise) Minsk, 100, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the John Scott House in Braintree, after a brief period of declining health. She was the devoted wife of 59 years of Irving Minsk, before his death in 1999. Born in Mayflower, Nova Scotia, Canada, daughter of Georgine and Henri Severin Muise. She was raised and educated in Mayflower, Nova Scotia. At the age of 12, she came to the United States with her family and settled in Chelsea. Mrs. Minsk was a longtime resident of Randolph before moving to Braintree over 20 years ago. Along with her husband, she was the founder and owner of Cam Cleaners in Randolph and Walpole, a company she worked at for many years, before her retirement. Rita loved to read and as her eyesight failed, she enjoyed listening to books on tape every day. She was particularly fond of Agatha Christie and loved mysteries. She was deeply devoted to her family and looked forward to their holiday gatherings. She celebrated her 100th birthday in December with all of her family in attendance.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Elaine G. McGill of Stoughton and her son, Richard F. Minsk and his wife Linda of Sharon. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, James L. McGill. She was the sister to the late Beatrice Seastrom, Charles Muise, Pauline McCann and Bernadette Muise. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren; Karen Etzkorn of Medfield, David Minsk of Walpole, James L. McGill, Jr. of Auburn, Christine Nash of Whitman and Jason Minsk of Franklin. She is also survived by her 14 great grandchildren, her beloved niece, Linda Last, her great niece Alison Last, her nephew, Paul Seastrom and her sister-in-law Georganne Muise and some very special friends.
A Visiting Hour will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton, for family and close friends on Monday, January 31st from 10-11AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's memory may be made to Perkins Library for the Blind, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472-2790.
