Robert Paul Dutra, age 77, passed away peacefully at his residence in Stoughton surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband to Helen “Beth” Dutra for 47 years. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Joseph B. Dutra and Rose M. (Ferolito) Dutra. Bob served his country proudly in the Air Force in his early 20’s and went on to marry Beth and raise their family in Stoughton. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UMASS Amherst and worked as a Vice President and General Manager at an insurance company for many years before retiring. Bob enjoyed clamming, gardening in his yard, and fishing, and was famous for making homemade maple syrup in his neighborhood.
In addition to his wife Beth, Bob is survived by his children Robin Kearney and her husband David of Needham, and Adam Dutra of Stoughton. He was the grandfather to Sage, Vicka and Grayson, and was the brother to Joseph Dutra and Valerie Carey.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Thursday May 14th from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice at https://pro.gofundme.com/give/227922/#!/donation/checkout.
