Robert Douglas Greene, 80, a resident of Taunton, died peacefully at Morton Hospital in Taunton on Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was the husband of Priscilla I. (Alden) Greene for 59 years. Son of the late P. John and Alice (Hardy) Greene, he was born in Mt. Vernon, IL and raised in Milton, Quincy and Weymouth. Bob was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1960 and attended Northeastern Technical College in Boston. He resided in Taunton for the past 13 years. Bob was a design draftsman for Raytheon, Texas Instruments and at many job shops in the area. He also had security clearance with the U.S. government. He drafted for many years until CAD came along. He also drove people with special needs in Acton and Boxborough for 10 years.
Bob was well liked by everyone who knew him and enjoyed meeting and helping people. He enjoyed traveling, driving across country many times with his family. He was proud to visit all 50 states. He also enjoyed 8 cruises with his wife, traveling to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and even Cuba. He enjoyed Happy Hour and meeting different people on the cruises and relaxing. Bob was a firm believer in exercise and the wonders of nature. He enjoyed hiking, especially Blue Hills and the White Mountains. He was a wonderful, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who will be missed greatly by his family. He never complained and always looked for the best in people. Bob always said “Hope we get the answers to all this when we pass” and “knowing you honey, you know." God Bless!
In addition to his wife, Bob was the father of Deborah A. Large and her late husband Stephen, and John R. Greene and his wife Nary all of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Mia and John Greene. He is also survived by his dog, Marigot.
