Robert A. Malis, 89, died Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Juliana (Rudnicki) Malis. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. Following his graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1959. Upon returning home, he began working for the Boston Edison Company and spent his career there, as a talented draftsman and then as a right of way agent. He was a loyal member of Utility Workers Union of America, Local 387 in Boston. Bob was a resident of Stoughton for many years before moving to Taunton for over 15 years and spending the last 3 years in Swansea.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed photographing nature and wildlife. He was an avid fisherman and, for many years, enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with his cousin and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved grandson.

Bob is survived by his two daughters, Lisa M. King and her husband Jeffrey of RI and Victoria W. Simon and her husband Scott of CT. He was the brother of the late Anthony Malis and is also survived by his grandson Alexander Simon.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 10 AM-12 PM with Funeral Prayers to follow at 12 PM. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
