Back at home, Ron worked for the VA Hospitals in Brockton and West Roxbury for many years and retired as a Transitional Case Manager at the VA in Brockton, assisting Veterans returning to civilian life, retiring in 2010. In 2012, he was the recipient of a double lung transplant at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and was appreciative of the care and professionalism extended to him during his transplant and his recovery at BWH.
Ron and his wife Darlene loved to travel and spent the past years traveling the world, taking cruises and making many new friends. Ron also enjoyed golfing, particularly at Pine Oaks in Easton. Above all, he loved being surrounded by his beloved family and his friends. He was loved by all who met him with his contagious smile, sense of humor and his generous, kind heart.
