Roque P. Melo

Roque P. Melo, age 93, passed away at the Brockton Hospital on May 19, 2022. Born in Santa Cruz, Flores, Acores, he was the son to the late Emelia (Belem) and Francisco Pacheco Melo. He was the beloved and devoted husband to his wife Maria Gloria (Angelo) Melo for over 65 loving years. He worked in Construction and Carpentry for many years before immigrating to the United States in 1975. He worked at Ark-les for many years and retired from Solar Seal. He always had a passion for music which started in his home country, where he was a member of the marching band and played brass instruments. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and attended regularly, singing in the choir alongside his son. He loved tending to his garden, cooking, baking and woodworking, and could build anything. He could always be found by his cherished wife's side and his biggest passion above all was his family. They were his greatest gift, and he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Lurdes Melo of Stoughton, Fernando Melo and his wife Florbela of Stoughton, and Angela Melo and her partner John Stecich of East Falmouth. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica and her husband Anthony Cunha, Clifford Fortuna, Jeffrey Melo, Kassandra Melo, Tyler Melo and Kyle Perkins. He leaves behind his siblings Jose Antonio Melo of Taunton, and Maria Manuela of Canada. He is predeceased by his siblings Maria Conceicao Armas of Stoughton, Fernando and Joao Melo of Canada, Francisco, Fatima Angelo, Noemia Costa and Raul Melo all from the Acores. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt.27), Stoughton, on Thursday May 26th from 4-6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Friday May 27th at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30 AM.
