Ryan C. Murphy, 42, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born in Stoughton, son of Brian H. Murphy and the late Mary F. (Single) Murphy, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a 2002 graduate of Stoughton High School. He worked as an Electrician with his father Brian and his company, Murphy Electric, as well as at other area contractors for 5 years before deciding to continue his education at UMass Boston, where he earned a BA in Philosophy in 2012. While attending college, Ryan also worked as a caddy at Charles River Country Club in Newton, as well as at other golf courses in the area. After earning his degree, Ryan went on to attend Boston University Law School, graduating with his Juris Doctorate in 2017. Ryan was employed as a Lawyer for Reservitz McCluskey Law Offices in Brockton, where he was known for his hard work and friendly demeanor. Ryan was a dedicated lawyer, loving son and brother, but his most cherished title was that of Dad. He was a devoted and loving father who loved spending time with his son Avery and attending his games, school and social events.
Ryan was the father of Avery L. Murphy of Stoughton and the son of Brian H. Murphy of Stoughton and the late Mary F. (Single) Murphy. He was the brother of Tyler H. Murphy of RI, Timothy F. Murphy of IL and Breanna B. Murphy of Roslindale. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 3-6 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 6 PM. Donations in Ryan’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701, or to the Samaritans, 41 West St., 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02111.
