Sandra M. (Teagle) Cotter, 77, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, after a long period of declining health. She was the wife of Richard D. “Dick” Cotter for 45 years. Born in Everett, she was raised in the Point of Pines section of Revere and later in St. Ann’s Parish in Dorchester. She was a graduate of Boston Schools. Sandy was a resident of Dennis for 20 years, previously living in Florida for several years and raising her family in Bridgewater. Sandy worked as a Mortgage Banking Executive for several area banks including Rockland Trust, Cape Cod Five and Citizens Bank. She retired many years ago.
Sandy found joy in life’s simple pleasure whether it was spending a beautiful day on the greens at Rockland Golf Club, relaxing in her backyard while admiring her beautiful flowers and garden, or soaking in the beauty of Cape Cod’s shoreline, especially at Sesuit Harbor and Cold Storage Beach. She loved unwinding with her favorite cooking shows and finding inspiration in the kitchen. Above all, Sandy cherished the time she spent surrounded by her beloved family, whose love, laughter, and companionship brought her immeasurable joy and created memories that will be treasured forever.
In addition to her husband Richard D. “Dick” Cotter of Dennis, Sandy is survived by her children; David K. McKenna of Rockland, Matthew T. Cotter and his wife Keri of Bridgewater and Melissa T. Learned and her husband Thomas of TX. She was the loving Grammy of Benjamin McKenna, Kylie McKenna, Sydney McKenna, Lexie McKenna, Colin McKenna, Matthew, Madison and Avery Cotter, Victoria Bella and Kyle Learned. She was the sister of Elaine Curran of Cohasset, Susan Shockley of Bridgewater and the late Carol, Thomas and William Teagle. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Charlie.
