Stanley J. Korona

Stanley J. Korona, Jr., 53 passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his beloved family after a long battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband to Judith (Costa) Korona and a dedicated, loving father and grandfather. He was born and raised in Taunton, MA, the son of Stanley J. and Karen (Cook) Korona. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and TCMS Middle School. He was a 1986 graduate of Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical High School in Taunton, MA. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 8 years as a first-class petty officer. He worked as a machinist for four years upon the USS Fulton New London Connecticut and 4 years at the Groton Submarine Base in Groton CT. He received many letters of commendation from the admiral during his military service. After being honorably discharged Stan continued his trade as a machinist for Marver Med Inc. in Stoughton for over 26 years and finished his career there as Vice President of Operations. He poured his heart and soul into his work and was a mentor and friend to so many. Stan was witty, hardworking, caring, intelligent and a true gentleman. When Stan wasn't trying to make the world a better place, he was always looking to have a good time. From landing 50-pound stripers on the Cape Cod Canal to crushing golf balls nearly 400 yards on the course. Stan enjoyed rooting for the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins. He was a master at anything he set his mind to and enjoyed keeping busy. Stan would drop everything to help a friend or family member and he will be dearly missed by everyone that was blessed to know him.

In addition to his wife, Stan is survived by his children Amanda M. Wetterberg and her husband Michael of Plymouth, Michael P. Korona and his wife Kassey of Rehoboth, Matthew J. Korona and Mark S. Korona both of Carver. He was the step-father of Michael P. and Kristina L. Fetherston. Stan was the only brother of Linda M. Sutherland and her husband Bradford of Attleboro, Kimberly A. Thomas of Mansfield and the late Debra A. Rose, Mary F. Dutra and Lori A. Downing. He was the proud grandfather of Michael P. Korona, Jr., Aubrey M. Wetterberg and his newborn granddaughter Kendall R. Korona. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stan's wife and children would like to thank everyone for the years of love and support and constant prayers.
