Teresa Abreu (Ladeira) Kinniery, 50, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Boston Medical Center-South in Brockton on Thursday, June 12, 2025. She was the wife of Christopher J. Kinniery for 15 years. She was born in Stoughton, the daughter of Maria D. (DeAndrade) Ladeira of Stoughton and the late Antonio L. Ladeira. She was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1992 and continued her education at Massasoit Community College before graduating from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Teresa worked as an Intake and Referral Specialist for Old Colony Elder Services in Brockton for 22 years before retiring in 2023. She was an avid WWE fan and loved attending horror conventions as well as going to plays and musicals. She also enjoyed watching television and playing games online. She was a cat lover and especially loved her cats, Lugosi and Smudge. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Teresa was the sister of Rose L. Jardim and her husband Michael of Stoughton and the late Maria A. Crowther and her late husband Todd. She was the aunt and godmother of Jake Jardim, aunt of Michael Jardim and Sean Crowther and godmother of Alyssa Gillis. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, June 16 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa‘s memory may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation, 663 Thirteenth Street, Suite 100, Oakland, CA 94612 (https://www.myotonic.org).
