Thomas Edward Boyden, 77, a longtime resident of Brockton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Son of the late Arthur I. and Marjorie (Stevenson) Boyden, he was born in Norwood and raised in Sharon. He graduated from Sharon High School and UMass-Boston with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. Thomas was an Airman 1st Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was a resident of Brockton for 20 years after living in Bridgewater for several years. He was a machine shop supervisor at the Foxboro Company from 1970-1990 and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum from 1990 until his retirement in 2002.
Thomas is survived by his children, Martin Boyden of Oakland, CA, Matthew Boyden of Rehoboth and Rachel Deagle and her husband Joseph of North Easton. He was the brother of Gerald A. Boyden of Easton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, funeral services private. Interment will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon. Donations in Thomas' memory may be made to Museum of Science, Boston, 1 Science Park, Boston, MA 02114.
