Thomas Dangelo, age 78, passed away peacefully at his residence in Stoughton on May 17, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of 30 loving years to Rita (Savage) Dangelo. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Connie Dangelo and was raised and educated in Boston before becoming a longtime resident of Stoughton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. Tom worked 39 years of his life at Verizon, where he worked as a lineman. Known for his strong work ethic and ability to fix anything, his grandchildren always brought him something broken to fix. He was an active member of the Sons of Italy in Stoughton, enjoyed participating in bowling leagues, and loved attending car shows with his Corvette. He also found great joy in traveling, especially trips to Aruba, and he loved relaxing in the sun. Above all else, Thomas was a family man. He adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
In addition to his wife Rita, Tom is survived by his children, Jaime Dangelo of Onset, Michael Dangelo and his wife Jordan of Barre, Timothy Dwyer of Stoughton, and Jeffrey Dwyer and his wife Lindsay of Stoughton. He was the “Grumpy” to Timothy V, Jamison, Logan, Paige, Bryce and Olivia, and was preceded in death by his sister Linda Dangelo, and is survived by Cynthia Diaz, mother of Timothy V. Dwyer.
