Thomas J. Donohue, age 63, passed away peacefully after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Everett, he was the beloved son of the late Alice M. (MacLeod) and William S. Donohue. He later moved to Brockton where he graduated from Brockton High School Class of 1981. Tom dedicated more than 35 years of his career to Stop & Shop, where he worked as a GM Manager and in Loss Prevention. Along the way, he built lifelong friendships with coworkers and members of his community. Known for his kindness, generosity and willingness to help anyone at a moment’s notice, Tom loved to help everyone, he was affectionately known as “Mr. Fix it”. Always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or share his knowledge with others. Tom was a trusted mentor and dependable friend to so many. Above all else, Tom cherished time spent with his family and friends. He especially loved being on the water at John’s Pond in Mashpee, where many treasured memories were made. Living in Plymouth also brought him lifelong friendships and countless happy moments. Tom never missed an opportunity to celebrate the holidays and always went above and beyond to make every occasion special and memorable, often dressing up and bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
Tom is survived by his siblings, William J. Donohue of Brighton; Debra A. Ventresca and her husband Vince, of Plymouth; and Cathy J. Smith and her husband Kevin of Merritt Island, Fl. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia M. Martello of Brockton. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, a great niece, cousins and countless dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Friday, June 5th from 4-7 PM, with Funeral Prayers at 7 PM. In lieu of Flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/.
