Dr. Thomas E. Forde, known as “DOC” to his friends and associates, age 70, passed away on August 12, 2025, at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton. He was the devoted husband and best friend to Barbara J. (Sawyer) Forde for 24 loving years, meeting her in 2000 and getting married in 2001, making many loving memories throughout the years of their relationship. Born in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Forde and Josephine (Conroy) Forde and was raised and educated within the Inwood Section of New York, attending Good Shepherd School and Rice High School in Manhattan. He went on to receive a Doctorate Degree from Sovereign University in Project Management and worked for many different companies throughout the years, recently retiring from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts working as Lead Electrical Engineer for 4 years. Tom was also a member of the Raceway Elks Lodge #2852 out of Avondale, Arizona, and became an Exalted Ruler. He was a third degree Master Mason and was also a Shriner. He had a love for all things that had to do with the Irish culture and music and enjoyed trips to County Mayo to visit relatives and friends in Ireland. He took on the role of Santa for over 10 years, showing his soft side for the love of magic in every child’s eye when they saw him, and loved working as Santa every year during Christmas time. Tom had a booming personality with a sense of humor that could light up a room, and a positive outlook on life. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his dear wife Barbara, Tom is survived by his children Krysten Lewelling and her husband Brad of Arizona, Merissa “Jem” Alexander and her husband Dustin of Washington, Jennifer Sawyer of Stoughton, Gentry Forde and his wife Ashley of Arizona, Jeremy Brace and his wife Nina Mae of the Phillipines, and Tyler Forde of Arizona.
