Born in Boston, son of the late John and Lorraine (Jones) Ward, he was raised in East Boston, spent his youth in Roxbury and attended Boston Schools. While living in Roxbury, he met Marie Gregorio and, in 1963, they married, and together they enjoyed over 62 years of marriage and raised their three beloved children. Tom was a resident of Brockton for the past 35 years, previously living in Quincy and Weymouth. He worked in Maintenance for Market Basket in West Bridgewater for the past seven years, previously working at Signature Healthcare in Brockton for over 10 years. He was affectionally known as “Dancing Tom” in his workplaces and amongst friends. Many years ago, he was the owner of High Shine Floorcare in Weymouth for several years. Tom’s passions were his family, people, children and animals and, along with his wife Marie, was responsible for the rescue of many feral cats in the area. He was an active member of the Bridgewater Vineyard Church and formerly the Word of God Church in Brockton. In his free time, he enjoyed taking care of his yard, gardening and spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife Marie B. (Gregorio) Ward of Brockton, Tom is survived by his children, Christine M. “Tina” Colby of TX, Arthur G. Ward of Brockton and Skyler Jean (Laura) Ruffa-Ward of Westfield. He was the beloved Grandpa of Christa Loreley Romaine, Megan L. Colby, Thomas Colby, Lauren Veiga and Antonio Veiga. He was the brother of Ruthann Bush of NH, Mary Lou Brunswick of Weymouth and Donna Lee Federico of Quincy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
