Thomas F. Young

Thomas F. Young, 82, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Dianne (McCauley) Young, who died this past December. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Roslindale, was a graduate of Roslindale High School and spent his summers at Hamilton Beach in Wareham. He married Dianne McCauley in 1961, moved to Stoughton in 1967 and together, they raised four daughters in Stoughton. Tommy was a former member of the National Guard. He was a Teamster for Local 494 and delivered Wonderbread for over 40 years, retiring in 2002. Following his retirement, he worked as a Security Guard at the New England Sinai Hospital and also as a Funeral Attendant and Driver at Kane Funeral Home in Easton for several years. Tommy was a dedicated fan and longtime season ticket holder of the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed boating and going to boat shows and was always the grill man at family cookouts. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

Mr. Young is survived his daughters; Deanna M. Young, Laura J. Cusack and her husband David, and Suzanne M. Young all of Stoughton and Jacqueline H. Hill and her husband Adam, of Millis. He was the beloved Papa of Caroline and Alexandra Cusack, Thomas and Nicholas Hill and Jennifer and Taylor Walsh. He is also survived by his siblings, George Young, Jr. and his wife Lieselotte of Westwood and Katharine Young of Mattapoisett and his longtime friend and brother in law Richard G. McCauley of Canton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Saturday from 9-10AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow Mass and Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
