Obituary

Timothy J. McDonough, 67, died Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Boston Medical Center South in Brockton, after a period of declining health. Born in South Boston, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1977. While there, he met his high school sweetheart, Vicky. They were married in 1986 and together they enjoyed over 40 years of marriage while raising their beloved daughter Colleen. As a young adult, Tim studied hard to achieve his dream of becoming a licensed truck driver through the New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS). Following his education, he spent his career traveling across state lines – frequently calling home to describe a beautiful skyline or rare bird he’d seen.

Timmy was known for his hardworking nature, his undeniable sense of humor, and his unrelenting kindness. During his retirement, he could frequently be found with friends both new and old at Pages Market in Stoughton. He enjoyed listening to Motown, making delicious fried chicken, and tending to his yard. He loved spending time fishing at Ames Pond in Stoughton or at the Canton Reservoir – especially with his daughter when she was young. Above all, Tim enjoyed spending time with his beloved family making them laugh each and every day.

He is survived by his wife Vittoria A. “Vicky” (Fresina) McDonough of Stoughton and his daughter Colleen S. McDonough and her husband Christopher DiBenedetto of Marshfield. He was the brother of Maureen McDonough of Canton, JoAnne McDonough of Randolph and Michael McDonough and his wife Beth McDonough of Sharon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Donations in Tim’s memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 45 Gay St., Providence, RI 02905.
