Vincent H. Carolan, Jr., 81, died January 17, 2021, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River after a short period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Nancy E. (Powers) Carolan, with whom he celebrated his 50th anniversary this past October. Born in Boston, his early years were spent in West Roxbury, before moving to Stoughton at age 11. He attended West Roxbury and Stoughton Schools before attending and graduating from Coyle High School in Taunton, Class of 1957. After his graduating from high school, he attended Boston College and later entered the US Army, where he proudly served from 1959-1962, with the majority of that time overseas in Germany. He was a proud Teamster and member of Local 25 in Boston and was a longtime employee of Emery Air Freight serving Logan Airport. He retired in 2006. Vincent, known as Hugh to his family, was an avid fan and former shareholder of the New England Patriots. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Patriot road games and golfing. His most cherished times were spent with his family and friends at his home and his pool.
In addition to his beloved wife Nancy, he is survived by his four sons, Kenneth J. Spears and his wife Christine and Sean M. Carolan, both of Stoughton, Vincent A. Carolan, III and his wife Tracy of New Bedford, and William P. Carolan and his wife Nicole of Norfolk. He was the loving Papa of Gregory Pineau, Samantha Spears and Aiden P. Carolan. Hugh was the brother of Lucia McNamara and Paul Carolan of FL, Martha Sampson of Stoughton and Brenda McNeil of NC.
