Virginia M. “Ginny” (Ruddy) Mahoney, 74, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Boston Medical Center in Brockton. She was predeceased by her parents Edward & Virginia Ruddy. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Roslindale High School. In 1972, she married Richard “Ric” Mahoney and later that year they settled in Stoughton. Together with her husband Ric, they enjoyed over 54 years of marriage and raised their four beloved children. Ginny was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and “Gammee” who cherished being surrounded by the love of her family. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband Ric, she is survived by her children, Richard D. Mahoney, Jr., and his wife Deborah of Shrewsbury, Kristin N. Wysocki and her husband Adam and Ryan S. Mahoney, both of Easton and Heather G. Nelson of Rhode Island. She was the devoted “Gammee” of Brayden and Maegan Mahoney, AJ and Brooklyn Wysocki, Logan and Isabella Nelson. She was the sister of Edward Ruddy of Connecticut and Michael Ruddy of Stoughton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Ginny’s memory made to be made to the Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or www.jimmyfund.org.
