Walter J. Daley, age 60, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Walter was the beloved husband of Sheryl (Rokus) Daley and the devoted father of Logan and Lucas. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in his sons, cherishing every moment spent with them. He especially enjoyed watching his boys play sports.
Born and raised in Stoughton, Walter was the son of the late Helen (Kavalski) Daley and John Daley, Jr., and was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1983. Walter continued his studies at Northeastern University, earning a BS in Business in 2000.
Walter was employed as a Configuration Analyst at Boston Mutual in Canton following a 40-year career at Liberty Mutual. He was respected for his dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
He found great joy in life’s simple but meaningful traditions. Walter enjoyed time away in Maine with his family and in New Hampshire with extended family. He looked forward to his bi-weekly pizza nights with his brothers — evenings filled with laughter, stories, and lifelong bonds. As the youngest of six, Walter truly cherished being referred to by his two sisters as "MVFB" (My Very Favorite Brother). He also treasured his 25-plus years of Sunday-morning basketball games, a time of camaraderie and friendly competition that kept him active and connected with close friends. Walter was also an avid Boston sports fan; he treasured the wins and agonized over the losses.
Walter will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and generous heart. His resilience during his illness was an inspiration to all who knew him. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, proud father, loyal brother, and dear friend.
His legacy of love, devotion, and integrity will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Walter will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In addition to his wife Sheryl and his sons, Logan and Lucas, Walter is survived by his loving sisters and brothers: Mary Ann Daley-DiCastro and her husband Richard of Bridgewater; Helen Daley and her partner Ray Souza of Naples, Florida; Michael Daley and his wife Charleen of Englewood, Florida; John Daley and his wife Theresa of Middleboro; and Joseph Daley and his wife Linda of Carver. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth Rokus of Brockton; his brother-in-law, Kevin Rokus and his wife Michelle of Holliston; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton, on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 3-6 PM with Funeral Prayers to follow at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter’s memory to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), or Bloodcancerunited.org.
