Walter M. "Kraut" Jones, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 19, 2021. He was the husband of Debra A. Pepi. Son of the late Walter M. and Mildred (Estabrooks) Jones, he was born and raised in Brockton. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1971. He resided in Easton for over 20 years before moving to Stoughton in 1998. Kraut was the owner of Ace Auto Body in Stoughton, working there for over 50 years before retiring last year. He was a past president and coach of Sharon-Easton Pop Warner Football. He enjoyed camping, boating, racing go karts, bowling, hot rods, motorcycles and was known for his great sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Kraut is survived by his children, Mark W. Jones and his wife Nicole of Bridgewater, John P. Jones and his wife Jennifer and Stacy L. Jones and Wellington Cabral Delarosa of Easton. He was the grandfather of Samantha, Ella, Aiden, Brennen and Connor Jones and Isabella Cabral-Jones. He was the brother of Joyce Baltusis of Orchard Park, NY, Debra Smalley of Mechanicsville, VA and Robert Jones of Easton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, December 17 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kraut's memory may be made to Debra Pepi, c/o Farley Funeral Home, PO Box 93, Stoughton, MA 02072.
